I'm Brandon. I've been drinking and studying matcha for over 22 years โ€” answering questions at tea shops, writing guides for people opening cafรฉs, helping friends figure out what to buy. This site is all of that knowledge in one place.

How this site works

Every page leads with the answer. If you came here to know what temperature to use or which grade to buy, the TL;DR comes first. Detail follows for those who want it.

Where I make a claim, I try to back it up โ€” with research, with tradition, or by clearly marking it as my own opinion. Matcha has a long history and real science behind it, but there's also a lot of marketing dressed up as education. I'd rather be honest about what I don't know than pretend everything is settled.

There are no ads here, and no hype. Matcha is good; it doesn't need exaggeration.
